The ninth edition of the Acerinox Award is on track

We already have the finalists of this new edition of the Acerinox Award.

The jury is formed by Ms. Mª Cruz Díaz Álvarez, President of the Spanish Institute of Engineering as President of the Jury, Mr. Bernardo Velázquez Herreros, Chief Executive Officer of Acerinox, Ms. Mónica Campos Professor and Secretary of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering at the Carlos III University of Madrid, Mr. José María Berenguer, Chief Executive Officer of Berenguer Ingenieros and Mr. Francisco Fernández de la Mata, Acerinox Europa Manufacturing Director.

The winner project will be selected among these five finalists:

  • "Diseño, ensamblaje y ensayos iniciales de un vehículo sumergible operado remotamente" by Adrián Sánchez Granero, Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Industrial, Master in Industrial Engineering, led by José Luis Aguirre Martínez.

  • “Fragilización por Hidrógeno de un Acero Dúplex 2205 Utilizando Ensayos de Tracción y Fractura” by María Blasco Ruz  Universidad de Oviedo, Escuela Politécnica de Ingeniería de Gijón, Master’s Degree in Integrity and Durability of Materials, Components and Structures led by Francisco Javier Belzunce Varela. 

  • “Caracterización Microestructural y Mecánica de componentes de Acero AISI 316L Conformados Mediante la Técnica de Deposición Dirigida de Energía por Láser y Estudio de la Viabilidad de la Técnica LSP para la Mejora de sus Propiedades” by Alba González Oviaño of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales, Industrial Technologies Engineering Degree, led by Francisco Cordovilla Baro and Marcos Díaz Muñoz.

  • “Materiales Pulvimetalúrgicos para la Fabricación de Interconectores para Pilas de Hidrógeno” by Ángel Casado Arribas, of the Universidad de Valladolid, Escuela de Ingenierías Industriales, Mechanical Engineering Degree, led by Ana Cristina García Cabezón.

  • “FLOTABILIDAD NEUTRA. La catedral invertida.” by Rodrigo Valle Barrio, of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura, Architecture Master led by Adelino Moreira Magalhaes, Jesús Anaya Díaz and Alexander Díaz Chyla.

Once again, we would like to thank the universities for their collaboration as well as for the quality of the projects presented.  The final Jury’s decision will be published by the same means.
