Spanish Pavilion, Expo Milano 2015
B720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos
National pavilions at World Expos showcase values and commercial strategies of each country. These are unique stages to present their achievements, culture, products etc. to an international audience.
First Prize in the competition for the design and exhibition contents for the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Milan 2015, that will open on 1st May 2015 with the core theme "Feeding the Planet. Energy for Life". The B720 Architects' project offers a seemingly simple, smart solution for the complex technical, spatial, functional and thematic of this Expo. A pavilion with a clear and contained geometry, a fusion of the traits that our country exports: the tradition and the innovation.
The idea of coexistence between tradition and innovation is embodied by two large blocks set side in parallel, the one symbolizes Tradition and is composed of wooden structures which take us to the traditional food culture and the second block covered of stainless steel shows the innovation and reflects the bright appearience of two of the most famous Spanish products: wine and olive oil.
