VI Acerinox Awards ceremony in the University Jaume I
This is the 6th Edition of the Acerinox Awards, which was given to Jorge Alcañiz Ull, student of the High School of Technology and Experimental Sciences of the University Jaume I, in Castellón for his final degree project: “Design and installation of ice grinding machine with feed bell and sieving system”.
The ceremony took place yesterday in the Assembly Hall of the Doctoral School of the University, with the presence of David Cabedo, Vice-rector of transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship, Ana Piquer, Director of the High School of Experimental Sciences and Technology and Juan Antonio Bertolín, Director of Espaitec, Park of Science and Technology of the University. Also present were Bernardo Velázquez, Acerinox CEO and José Antonio Odriozola, President of the Jury and Professor at the University of Seville.
With these Awards, Acerinox recognises the work of the University students who finish their Degree or Master project with relation to stainless steels.
Bernardo Velázquez thanked the warm welcome of the University Jaume I, highlighting in his speech the relevance of investing in those who will make decisions in the future, showing the extraordinary material stainless steel is: “which keeps on developing, growing and each year we find new applications of it”. He also expressed this as a unique opportunity: “we can build a bridge and work together, enterprise and university, and help to develop a sustainable society… guaranteeing the employability of the youth”.
