And the winner is...
The ninth edition of the Acerinox Award already has a winner

Alba González Oviaño, from the Degree in Industrial Technologies Engineering at the UPM, has been awarded this year for her final degree project entitled: “Microstructural and mechanical characterisation of AISI 316L components formed using the directed laser energy deposition technique and study of the viability of the LSP technique to improve their properties”.
The jury, chaired by Ms. Mª Cruz Díaz Álvarez, President of the Spanish Institute of Engineering, and integrated by renowned experts in the sector; Mr. Bernardo Velázquez Herreros, CEO of Acerinox, S.A.; Ms. Mónica Campos, Professor at the University Carlos III of Madrid; Mr. José María Berenguer, CEO of Berenguer Ingenieros; and Mr. Francisco Fernández de la Mata, Director of Acerinox Europa SA. have been in charge of deciding the IX Acerinox Award.
Alba's work focuses on the analysis of AISI 316L steel produced by DED, an additive manufacturing technology that allows the creation of parts with complex geometries and advanced properties. She has also evaluated the impact of Laser Shock Peening (LSP) treatment on this material, with the aim of improving its mechanical properties.
The date of the IX Acerinox Award will be announced in this same media, as well as in our social media.
