1st Acerinox Award Ceremony
Acerinox CEO, Bernardo Velázquez submitted the First Acerinox Award to university studies on stainless steel
The ceremony took place in Ada Byron building at the Engineering and Architecture School of the University of Zaragoza. The event was chaired by José Antonio Mayoral, the University’s Rector Magnificus.
Last 12th January 2017, Acerinox CEO Bernardo Velázquez submitted the First Acerinox Award to Carlos Sanz San Miguel, Engineering student at the University of Zaragoza, for its final degree project “Comparative study of the behaviour against corrosion by chloride ions among stainless steels”.
The Jury, the Acerinox CEO as well as the Education Authorities highlighted the level of the ideas presented to this competition and, in a particular way, the project of the awarded student out over the other eight projects from seven Spanish prestigious universities that reached the final.
The prize organized by Cedinox (The Spanish Stainless Steel Development Association) entails a monetary award of 3,000 euro.
All university students who participate in any of the Cedinox courses and develop their degree or master final project in connection with stainless steel application, investigation or development, with the aim of enhance the knowledge about this material application among young architects and engineers at national level.
