In summer, beach bars are becoming a popular destination for enjoying refreshing drinks and cocktails by the sea. A key element in the preparation of these cocktails is stainless steel utensils.

Stainless steel is known for its resistance to corrosion, which is essential in a humid environment such as a beach bar by the sea. Constant exposure to water and acidic cocktail ingredients can damage other materials, but stainless steel remains intact.

This material is extremely durable and can stand up to constant use without deforming or deteriorating. At the same time, it is easy to clean and maintain, ensuring that utensils are bacteria-free and ready for their next use. This property is especially important in food and beverage preparation to avoid cross-contamination.

In addition to its functional properties, stainless steel gives an elegant and professional look to the room in which it is placed.

Some of the most common cocktail elements made of stainless steel include:

- Cocktail shaker: an essential tool for mixing ingredients uniformly and cooling the cocktail quickly.

- Jigger: used to accurately measure liquids, ensuring that each cocktail has the perfect balance of flavours.

- Strainer: allows cocktails to be served without unwanted solids, such as crushed ice or pieces of fruit.

- Bar spoons: used to mix ingredients in a mixing glass, they are long and thin, allowing for efficient mixing.

- Muddler: tool used to crush fruits, herbs and spices in the bottom of a glass, releasing their natural flavours.

The most common grades of stainless steel used in the manufacture of these utensils are:

  1. 304 stainless steel: contains approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel, giving it excellent corrosion resistance and good durability. It is ideal for jiggers, strainers and whisks.
  2. 316 stainless steel: contains molybdenum as well as chromium and nickel, which further improves its corrosion resistance, especially in high salinity environments such as beach bars by the sea. It is perfect for equipment that is in constant contact with acidic liquids, such as bar spoons and muddlers.

Enjoy this summer and don't forget to appreciate all the stainless steel around you.
